In this wiki you will find our Poetry Unit for this term. Our focus will initially be a revision of assumed understanding about forms and techniques used in poetry, and then an exploration of the theme "relationships".
You will have opportunity to share ideas about relationships and poetry, analyse poems, create visual representations and to create poems of your own. You will be able to see other young people read poems that they have written through the SLAM poetry competition and see visual representations created by other people.
Throughout this unit you will be able to work independently and collaboratively, to analyse and to create.
By working on line in this way, you will be able to develop your ICT skills: through use of software such as Inspiration, Powerpoint and by accessing links from the Internet found within each activity.
So enjoy!
Let's start by doing some brainstorming. Go to the "discussion" to start sharing ideas: Why do people read, write and study poetry?
